Hello. If you are here you are probably trying to find out what to look for in a mattress. No doubt you are doing much research. Good job, you should, because-hey, we spend a third of our life in bed. Or if you are like me and really love your bed-maybe even more time than that. And why shouldn’t you love your bed? If you don’t, we are here to help. I have been selling mattresses along with my husband for the last 30 + years. (I got married very young) Anyway, he has been doing it longer than that. (He robbed the cradle) His family started this business in 1958. (Here is where he would probably want me to clarify that this was before he was born) When I first met my then future husband, I remember asking him what he did for a living and he replied that his family made and sold mattresses. Now I grew up in a thrifty family. I had never owned a new mattress. And if we got a different mattress we generally bought it at a yard sale. I remember replying “who buys new mattresses?” He just looked at me like I was crazy. But I give this anecdote just to help you see that our mattress, the piece of furniture in our home that affects our health and well being the most, is the most neglected of all purchases. Why? It’s much more fun to by a sofa maybe, or maybe people give up out of frustration. But often people think that the mattress they have been sleeping on since they were in grade school or since they got married or since they got their first apartment never wears out. But if you are waking up in pain, having trouble with getting a restful sleep, or sinking into the middle of your mattress like it is a taco—it is probably time to go mattress shopping. Hopefully I will be able to arm you with some tips for your mattress shopping. Now of course, I think you should definitely buy from us, but, alas, you can’t win them all, so these post are free to everyone without obligation.
